A.P. to fill 948 anganwadi posts, boost to womens’ employment


In a bid to strengthen anganwadi services and enhance employment opportunities for women in Andhra Pradesh, the State government has decided to fill the 948 posts for anganwadi helpers and workers across the State. The announcement was made by the minister of women and child welfare Gummadi Sandhya Rani on Friday, while directing officials from 26 districts to take up recruitment.

Speaking at a review meeting with officials from the Department of Women and Child Welfare and Department of Tribal Welfare on 2025-26 Budget, asked the officials to focus on child nutrition and health protection.

The Principal Secretaries and directors of the two departments evaluated the progress of ongoing schemes. The meeting also discussed the allocation, effective implementation and use of funds for various welfare programmes.
