
Vijay Sankar, Honorary Consul General of Denmark for Southern India and Chairman of The Sanmar Group, has been awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Dannebrog by the King of Denmark in recognition of his consular services.
The award, accompanied by a formal citation, was presented to Sankar by Rasmus Abildgaard Kristensen, Ambassador of Denmark to India, at a function in Chennai on Tuesday, according to a statement.
While reading the citation, Ambassador Kristensen highlighted Sankar’s contributions to strengthening Indo-Danish relations during his tenure. He also acknowledged the legacy of Sankar’s family, mentioning his father, N Sankar, and grandfather, K S Narayanan, who previously held the same consular position with distinction.
