Congress member H. D. Ranganath, representing Kunigal constituency in Tumakuru district, hit out at Cooperation Minister K. N. Rajanna for denying loans from cooperatives to farmers of his constituency.

Speaking on the State budget for 2025-26 on March 19, Mr. Ranganath, a relative of Deputy Chief Minister and KPCC chief D. K. Shivakumar, criticised Mr. Rajanna for denying subsidized loans to farmers of his constituency.

Mr. Rajanna has been demanding replacement of Mr. Shivakumar as the KPCC chief and creation of 3 or 4 posts of Deputy CM to check Mr. Shivakumar’s rising influence in the government and the party.

Mr. Ranganath claimed to be receiving support from all government departments, except the Cooperation Ministry.

The Congress member also urged the government of Karnataka to hike milk prices to meet the rising input cost of dairy farmers.

Bhagirathi Murulya (BJP), representing Sullia constituency, urged increasing the honorarium of physically challenged persons in gram panchayats from ₹9,000 per month. Physically challenged persons have been staging protests across Karnataka demanding fulfilment of various demands.

She also demanded construction of an Ambedkar Bhavan in her constituency and development of SC/ST colonies. The BJP member flagged elephant and money menace in her constituency and damage to crops by wild animals.
