The Tamil Nadu government has redesignated its Additional Advocates General (AAGs) at the principal seat of the Madras High Court as well as the Madurai Bench of the High Court. According to a Government Order (G.O.) issued on Tuesday, senior counsel M. Ajmal Khan shall now be designated as AAG-I.

As per the G.O., senior counsel Veera Kathiravan, Haja Nazirudeen, P. Kumaresan, R. Baskaran, J. Ravindran, R. Ramanlal, K. Chandramohan, M. Suresh Kumar, R. Neelakandan and advocate P. Muthukumar had been designated as AAGs II to XI respectively with Mr. Ravindran being given the additional charge of coordination between the government and the judiciary.

The G.O. also stated the re-designation had been carried out in view of a recommendation made by Advocate General P.S. Raman in a letter written by him to the government on February 21, 2025.
