Andhra Pradesh Economy has been put back on the track of development by the NDA Government during the last nine months, according to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
Speaking in the State Assembly in Amaravati on Monday, Naidu said there was `total destruction’ of the State economy by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy – led YSR Congress Party government during its rule in 2019-24.
Referring to the Swarnandhra Vision 2047 released by the State Government recently, Naidu said the vision document contained elaborate plans on taking to per capita income in the State ₹55 lakhs and the total economy to $2.4 trillion dollar.
District – wise economic development will be analysed by the Government to identify growth potential and opportunities. The MLAs in each constituency should take up the responsibility of taking the Vision 2047 forward as it contained a 10 point formula for development including the elimination of poverty, the Chief Minister added. The Vision 2020 introduced by Naidu for development of United Andhra Pradesh while he was the Chief Minister helped erstwhile Andhra Pradesh to develop rapidly, Naidu said.
Polavaram Project
While responding to questions, Nimmala Ramanaidu, Minister for Water Resources said ₹19,396 crore was spent on the Polavaram Project so far since 2014 out of which the Center had given ₹17,860 crore.
Referring to rehabilitation, the Minister said 12,797 families were rehabilitated so far in the phase 1 of the project while 27,263 families were yet to be shifted. The Phase 1 relief and rehabilitation would be completed by June 2026, he added.
