Emergency crews were called to the scene on McGrigor St. Just after 8 a.m. last Wednesday where crews found all levels of the house in flames.
Three people were removed from the home — the mom and her children.
In an update on Monday, Durham Regional Police said a 12-year-old girl has died from her injuries.
The 56-year-old father of the children, who was found outside the burning home when crews arrived, is expected to survive.
The family’s dog also died in the fire.

Police said autopsies show no signs of foul play. While the investigation into the cause of the blaze continues, it’s not believed to be arson.
As of Monday afternoon, nearly $12,000 had been raised through a GoFundMe on behalf of the Bresca family.

Oshawa Fire Deputy Chief Todd Wood said a woman and two children were located on the second floor, with one child taken down the stairs and out the front door and the others removed through a second-storey window.
The fire destroyed the home after the second floor collapsed onto the main floor, said Jim Gillespie of the Ontario Fire Marshal’s office.
“Well, we’re looking at everything, both outside the house and inside the house, with regards to fire patterns,” Gillespie told reporters at the scene Friday, explaining the OFM will also be talking to witnesses and looking for any video that may help with the investigation.
