I’m old enough to remember a time when the Canadian flag was only used by a small fringe minority of miscreants who wanted to destroy Canada. Now it’s a sign of national unity. I guess this is a prime example of being unburdened by what has been!
Aaron Williamson
(The flag should only ever stand for unity. We are happy to see so many more of them around these days.)
A DAY FOR NATION TO CELEBRATE
How about a national holiday March 10 to celebrate the departure of, quite frankly, the worst prime minister since Confederation? This lame-duck leader has done diddly in nearly a decade but travel the world and the seven seas at the expense of overtaxed Canadians, at the same time telling us we should be ashamed of our past while pushing his divisive woke agenda and green dreams, and killing pipelines that, had we built them, would have made us self-sufficient. The door will hit him as he poses for one last selfie.

TIME TO DIVERSIFY
On March 4, 2025, we saw a wedge inserted between two countries that have been allies for a long time. The wedge was inserted by a narcissistic would-be dictator. The response by Canadian politicians was admirable, but I must say that Mr. Poilievre was intent on partisan-type words, which, at this time, we don’t need. The past is behind us and what we face is a man who will do anything to boost his own ego. He wants to annex this land of ours. Some people take his words lightly, but this same person almost idolizes dictators. This is a time when we must diversify our export trade so that we are not as dependent as we are now.
LARRY MITCHELL
(Federal leadership has left us so dependant on trade with the U.S. we are hooped now.)
WE NEED TRUE LEADERSHIP
All the politicians have been beating their chests about how brave they have been in the face of American tariffs. As if we can dent an economy about 100 times larger than ours with counter-tariffs. And not one word about what we really need. Leadership to begin building this country toward expanding our raw-material marketing around the world and away from the U.S.A. and the infrastructure to make it happen. What’s wrong with these so-called leaders?
LES SWERDFEGER
(We should get a chance to pick new ones pretty soon.)
