Google Play and Android are unveiling new games and features designed to improve gameplay on PC and mobile platforms. The update brings more games to both PC and mobile while enhancing performance and graphics with new technology.
The new announcement includes more PC games coming to mobile and vice versa. Google Play is adding all Android mobile games to PC by default. Additionally, PC games like Dredge and Disco Elysium are coming to Google Play on mobile later this year. These titles have been optimized for Android devices.
Google Play users can also personalize their experience with multi-account and multi-instance support and a game sidebar that offers quick adjustments. Essentially, this lets you start a title on PC and complete it on mobile, or vice versa. Players can also personalize their PC experience by using custom controls.
Google Play Games on PC will launch in general availability later this year, with upgrades and an entire library of games. However, the expanded catalogue is now accessible on more devices, including AMD laptops and desktops. The Google Play Games on PC beta has been available for about a year now.
Play Games on PC will also show badges detailing how compatible a game is for PC. Some badges will show “Playable” or “Optimized” so gamers can quickly get an idea of how a game will perform.
Google Play will also offer improved gameplay with smoother frame rates, immersive visuals, and updates, including ray tracing. Additionally, a new Play Points experience provides more chances to earn and redeem points for in-game items, discounts, and more.
Last but not least, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad will be available on Google Play Games for PC in late April.
Google announced this all ahead of the Game Developer Conference, which takes place from March 17 to March 21 in San Francisco.
