The responsibility of achieving the goals of Viksit Bharat and Swarnandhra-2047 rests on the shoulders of officials, who should make coordinated efforts to realise the dreams of the Union and State governments, 20-Point Programme Chairman Lanka Dinakar said.

Addressing the media after conducting a review meeting on implementation of Central schemes with NTR district officials at the Collectorate in Vijayawada on Saturday, Mr. Lanka Dinakar said a revised Detailed Project Report (DPR) would be made to ensure clean drinking water to every household in the district under the Jal Jeevan Mission.

“Under the rule of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM K. Pawan Kalyan, every mandal in the district will have access to clean water through Pulichintala and Prakasam Barrage. A revised DPR would be made listing out the number of over head tanks, filters and others required to achieved the goal,” he said.

Regarding the stalled stormwater drain project in Vijayawada, Mr. Lanka Dinakar said the Union government released ₹460 crore in 2016. But, the works have been stalled due to various reasons, including diversion of funds. He added that officials have been instructed to prepare a DPR with revised estimates and submit it to the government.

Talking about the tourist plans for the district, he said ₹18 crore would be spent on improving facilities in the Bhavani Island and that discussions have also been held on organising programmes to attract tourists to the Prakasam Barrage and Pavitra Sangamam.

He said officials should work to increase employment opportunities in the State.

District Collector G. Lakshmisha, MP Kesineni Sivanath and others were present in the meeting.
