Unseasonal rains leave mango growers worried over their crop prospects, hailstorms hit parts of north Telangana

Light to moderate rains accompanied by hailstorms lashed several areas in the erstwhile undivided Adilabad, Karimnagar and Nizambad districts on Friday (March 21), bringing relief from heat, and causing damage to some of the mango orchards in Jagtial district and elsewhere in north Telangana.

Untimely rains coupled with gusty winds hit parts of Dharmapuri, Dharmaram, Thimmapur and various other mandals in the former undivided Karimnagar district.

Karimnagar town witnessed sudden showers on Friday evening, causing disruptions in power supply for some time in Vavilalapalli and various other colonies in the district headquarters town.

Unseasonal rain and hailstorms reportedly damaged mango flowers and raw mangoes in several orchards in Jagtial district, leaving mango farmers worried over their mango crop prospects in the peak summer season ahead.
