Two drown in Hemavathi river near Sakleshpur

Two youths, who went swimming in the Hemavathi river near Henli village in Sakleshpur, drowned on Saturday. The bodies were retrieved with the help of the fire and emergency services staff.

Bharath, 27, of Handi village in Chikkamagaluru district, and Prakash, 29, of Katalli in Sakleshpur, went for a swim in the river along with a group of friends.

The group alerted the local people and the fire and emergency services personnel when the two drowned, unable to swim.

The staff from the fire brigade at Sakleshpur rushed to the spot. They retrieved the bodies, which were then shifted to the government hospital in Sakleshpur for post-mortem. .
