New sniffer dog inducted into Tiruchi police narcotics unit

A new sniffer dog has been inducted into the narcotics unit of the Tiruchi city police.

The three-month-old pupbelonging to the Belgian Malinois breed, Silambu, will undergo six months of training in Coimbatore from June to November. After completing training it will be added to the sniffer dog squad, said a press release. It will be deployed to sniff out illegal drugs and help curb the movement of banned substances in the city, it added.
