Meerut Murder Shocker: Lover made Muskan sit on Saurabh’s chest, guided her to stab him thrice in the heart

A former Merchant Navy officer, Saurabh Rajput, was allegedly murdered by his wife, Muskan Rastogi, and her lover, Sahil. Police investigations revealed that Sahil directed Muskan to stab her unconscious husband three times in the heart, promising her a new life after the crime.

Crime scene uncovered disturbing details

Authorities found Sahil’s room filled with satanic symbols, cigarette boxes, and artwork depicting drug use. The victim’s family believes that his interest in the occult played a role in the crime. Saurabh’s mother, Renu Devi, claimed that her son was murdered as part of a tantric ritual.
Among the writings on the walls was the phrase: “You can’t trip with us.” The room had a dimly lit atmosphere, broken walls, and a bedsheet covering the window. Liquor cans were also found scattered around.

‘Lover Made Muskan an addict’

According to police reports, on March 4, Rajput was drugged, stabbed, dismembered, and his remains sealed inside a cement-filled drum. Muskan and Sahil then left for Himachal Pradesh, using Saurabh’s phone to mislead his family. The crime came to light two weeks later when Muskan confessed to her parents, who informed the police.

Sources told PTI that Sahil had psychological control over Muskan, making her an addict and separating her from her six-year-old daughter. Muskan’s parents accused Sahil of trapping her in a world of superstitions. Neighbours recalled his eerie behaviour, which included wearing kurtas with ‘Mahakal’ inscriptions and keeping his room shrouded in darkness.

“Sahil’s occult practices dominated Muskan’s mind in such a way that she started keeping her six-year-old daughter away. Sahil had made Muskan an addict and completely superstitious,” said the victim’s mother.

‘Lover Directed Muskan to stab Saurabh’s heart thrice’

Muskan told police that Sahil coerced her into the murder. “You have to kill Saurabh if we are to start a new life,” he allegedly told her. On the night of the crime, he directed her to sit on Saurabh’s chest and stab him. When she hesitated, he guided her hand to strike three times.”Sahil got Muskan to kill her husband. First, he made her sit on Saurabh’s chest. Then he brought a knife from the kitchen, showed her how to wield it and directed her to insert the knife in Saurabh’s heart thrice,” a police source told PTI.

Fake identity used to manipulate Sahil

Investigations revealed that Muskan had manipulated Sahil by creating a fake Snapchat ID, impersonating his deceased mother. Through this, she convinced him that his mother wanted Saurabh dead.

Police found that the two had reconnected in 2019 through a school WhatsApp group. Their relationship rekindled, and by November 2023, Muskan had allegedly begun plotting Saurabh’s murder. Before his return from London in February, she purchased sedatives and knives, claiming she needed them for cutting chicken. She also searched for a place to dispose of the body.

Investigation and legal proceedings

SP City Ayush Vikram Singh stated that Saurabh had been estranged from his family since marrying Muskan, which she believed would help cover up his disappearance. However, her plan failed, and both she and Sahil now face trial for what investigators describe as a well-planned and gruesome crime.
