In its effort to boost jewellery exports, Karnataka has announced plans to open a net-zero Jewellery Park near Kempegowda International Airport.
In his opening speech at the Jewellery Expo on Friday, MB Patil, Minister of Large and Medium Industries, stated that the government is open to providing land for setting up the Jewellery Park. He urged industrialists to capitalise on opportunities in the jewellery export sector and come forward with investments.
“Karnataka continues to be a preferred destination for jewellery manufacturing and exports, offering world-class infrastructure, future-centric policies, and a skilled workforce. Supporting this growth, the Indian Institute of Gems and Jewellery in Udupi has been training skilled craftsmen,” the Minister said.
Indian jewellery trade records annual transactions worth $32 billion, with key export markets including the US, UAE, Russia, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Emphasising on the potential of Karnataka’s jewellery sector, the Minister assured that the government would provide all necessary support and facilities to drive growth in the industry.
