
The Hyderabad Traffic Police booked 1,099 cases between March 15 and March 21.
The enforcement campaign, conducted across various city locations, aimed to curb reckless driving and enhance road safety.
According to the police, two-wheeler riders constituted the highest number of offenders, with 961 cases booked. Three-wheeler drivers accounted for 39 cases, while 96 four-wheeler drivers and three heavy-vehicle drivers were caught driving under the influence of alcohol.
The age-wise breakdown of offenders reveals that young adults were the most frequent violators. The highest number of 470 cases were booked in the 21-30 age group, followed by 331 cases in the 31-40 age category. A minor under 18 was also caught driving under the influence of alcohol.
Police also said that among those caught, 1,098 were men, and one woman.
An analysis of blood alcohol concentration (BAC) levels among offenders shows that 477 cases had BAC levels between 51-100, while 226 cases were in the 30-50 range. Some extreme cases were also reported, with 13 individuals recording BAC levels above 300.
