As the SSLC examinations got off to a smooth start in Kittur Karnataka region on Friday, Additional Commissioner of School Education Department of Kittur Karnataka Educational zone Jayashree Shintri, checked the functioning of the SSLC webcasting network setup by visiting a number of district-level centres.
Ms. Shintri visited the Dharwad district-level ‘Webcasting Observation Centre’ set up under the ‘Webcasting Network’ project implemented by the State government to monitor the activities of the SSLC Annual Examination-1 examination centres in the State. After getting first-hand information on the functioning of the centre, she interacted with officials and staff running it.
Emphasising on the need for active participation for the successful implementation of the initiative by the government, she said that the new initiative would ensure more transparency. She asked them to contact centres that were not within the network, to take immediate steps to validate the network.
District Education Officer Prabhayya Chikkamat, along with other officials of the department provided information the Additional Commissioner.
Earlier, Ms. Shintri visited the SSLC examination centre at Presentation Girls High School in Dharwad city and visited all the 14 examination halls to check the examination management.
There are a total of 2,41,150 students who are registered for the SSLC examination in the nine districts of the Kittur Karnataka educational division.
