
“It was very hard for me to show that side,” Anitta said March13 on Today with Jenna & Friends. “We tried for some years, and we couldn’t do it. And sometimes, I kind of forgot that the cameras there. And that’s how we were able to show the hard times that every person has inside. But for some reason with the internet, we believe that everyone is happy, that everything is perfect.”
“When I was poor and I had nothing, when I was from the ghetto, the slums of Brazil, I thought that, ‘OK, if I’m rich, if I’m famous, I’m going to be happy. I’m going to feel everything that I need.’ And that’s not it,” she added. “If we’re not deep inside fulfilled and don’t work on this emptiness and deal with it, there’s no fame, no money that’s going to help us to get there.”
