
A tourist bus involved in an accident near Irumpanam in Kochi on Thursday.

Three persons were injured in a collision involving a fuel tanker, tourist bus, and an autorickshaw near Irumpanam on Thursday.
The injured were admitted to a private hospital at Kakkanad. The drivers of the tanker and the tourist bus sustained minor injuries. The autorickshaw driver, who sustained head injuries, was admitted to the trauma care unit, according to the hospital authorities.
Personnel from the Thripunithura fire station said the accident occurred around 12 noon near the Indian Oil Corporation’s facility at Irumpanam. The tanker was proceeding towards Kakkanad after re-fuelling. The autorickshaw and the tourist bus were coming from the Kakkanad side. According to eyewitnesses, the bus hit the rear of the autorickshaw and swerved towards the right and collided with the tanker.
Rescue personnel broke open the cabin of the tanker as the driver got stuck inside. Traffic along Seaport-Airport Road between Kalamassery and Irumpanam was affected following the accident.
