Vengaivayal case accused file discharge petitions in Pudukottai court

The three accused in the case relating to mixing of faeces in an overhead water tank at Vengaivayal in the district filed discharge petitions in the Judicial Magistrate Court – II here on Thursday.

The accused, J. Muraliraja, 32, B. Sudharshan, 20, and K. Muthukrishnan, 22, appeared before the court on Thursday when the case came up for hearing. 

Sources said the three accused filed petitions with an appeal to discharge them from the case investigated by the Crime Branch CID. The hearing has been adjourned to April 3.  Copies of the chargesheet have been given to the three accused.
