Over 80 Teslas vandalized at Ontario dealership

People are hitting Elon Musk where it hurts, his automaker, and likely the main company that provides his wealth. The Tesla dealership in Hamilton, ON has had upwards of 80 cars damaged.

The Hamilton Police report says that on March 19, officers were called to the dealership and “discovered upwards of 80 Tesla vehicles which were parked outdoors had been damaged, including but not limited to deep scratches and punctured tires.”

The police are reviewing CCTV footage, but at the time of writing no arrests have been made.

CBC News also notes that there was a suspicious Tesla fire in London, ON that resulted in a melted Model S. Beyond that, two people have been arrested for spray painting a Tesla dealership in Montreal, and the Vancouver Autoshow removed the controversial automaker over fears of protests.

If you’re unfamiliar, all this Tesla hate has stemmed from Donald Trump’s close relationship with Elon Musk amid rising Canada-U.S. tensions. Both U.S. figures have recently painted themselves enemies of Canada and there was even a petition circulating to revoke Musk’s citizenship.

In political realms multiple levels of government across Canada have stopped working with Tesla and the province of Ontario has also ripped up a $100 million deal with Musk’s internet company Starlink.

Or at least I think that’s what all this is about. There is a really slim chance it’s Cybertruck owners revolting because their trucks are literally falling apart.
