Heat mitigation plan for the ensuing Sri Rama Navami fete in Bhadrachalam

With mercury levels rising ahead of peak summer, a slew of measures have been lined up as part of heat mitigation strategy to provide relief to devotees expected to throng Bhadrachalam in hordes for the ‘Tiru Kalyana Mahotsavam’ slated to be held on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami in the temple town on April 6.

These measures include installing misting systems at Mithila Stadium, the venue of the celestial wedding, to lower the temperatures and providing drinking water to the devotees across all the sectors in the stadium during the mega religious event.

The heat mitigation plan also envisages setting up of sheds and shamianas at open spaces near the temple and camping tents at karakatta (flood bank) near the banks of Godavari river, sources said.

Bhadradri Kothagudem Collector Jitesh V. Patil on Wednesday reviewed the department-wise arrangements with officials for the smooth conduct of the Mahotsavam and ‘Maha Pattabisheka Mahotsavam’ scheduled to be held on April 6 and 7, respectively.
