The Legal Coordination Committee for Government Doctors (LCC) on Wednesday staged a demonstration in Chennai demanding the State government to consider their slew of demands.
In a press release, S. Perumal Pillai, president of the LCC, said the government doctors should be given pay band IV as per the Government Order 354 to ensure their welfare. He said postgraduate medical students across Tamil Nadu should be given weekly leave, proper working hours and adequate accommodation facilities.
Considering the increasing number of patients to government hospitals, he urged the State government to increase the number of doctors, nurses and medical staff to provide effective medical services.
