Following the eviction of protesting farmers from the Shambhu border, Haryana security personnel on Thursday (March 20, 2025) morning started removing cemented barricades, which were erected to prevent the Punjab farmers from heading to Delhi. Meanwhile, security has been heightened at the Haryana – Punjab Shambhu Border.

Several farmer leaders including farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal who is on an indefinite fast and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha leader Sarvan Singh Pandher were detained by the Police. Reacting to it, farmer leader and national spokesperson of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), Rakesh Tikait condemned the Punjab government’s action.

The seventh round of talks between farmer leaders and a central delegation concluded on Wednesday (March 19, 2025), with Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announcing the next meeting on May 4.
