Ashwini Vaishnaw must apologise to youth over cancellation of RRB exam: Selvaperunthagai

Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) president K. Selvaperunthagai on Wednesday (March 19, 2025) slammed Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for the cancellation of recruitment examination for the post of Assistant Loco Pilots conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) due to ‘technical reasons’ and demanded that he apologises and provides compensation to the candidates for “causing mental stress.”

In a statement, Mr. Selvaperunthagai said that Leader of Opposition in Parliament Rahul Gandhi had previously flagged the issue of 85 lakh students, who had prepared to write NEET and UGC NET exams, being affected due to question paper leaks.

“Though the candidates from Tamil Nadu were allotted exam centres in States such as Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the Railways Department has made it difficult for those who went to write the exam today [Wednesday]. The Railways is destroying the dreams of those youth,” he said.
