Brigade Group and Gruhas launch ₹200-crore Earth Fund


Brigade Group, a city-based real estate developer, has joined hands with investment firm Gruhas, co-founded by Nikhil Kamath and Abhijeet Pai, to launch the ₹200-crore The Earth Fund, focused on realty tech and sustainability.

Set up under Zoiros Projects and floated by Brigade Group in partnership with Gruhas, the SEBI-registered Category II Alternative Investment Fund (AIF), comes with an additional ₹100 crore green-shoe option, aiming to back high-growth start-ups solving challenges in the built world through sustainability and innovation.

The Earth Fund will invest in technology ventures across the country, including Tier I and Tier II cities. It will focus on Pre-series A and Series-A tech start-ups in the areas of real estate, construction, and sustainability. The ticket size would be $1 million to $2 million and the fund will look at investing in 10 to 15 start-ups to start with.

Addressing a media conference, Nirupa Shankar, Joint Managing Director of Brigade Enterprises Ltd., said: “The uniqueness of The Earth Fund is its focus on urbantech and sustainability solutions. By leveraging the resources and expertise of Brigade Group and Gruhas, our aim is to identify and support start-ups that will redefine urban development and drive long-term value.’‘

The aim is to bridge the gap between traditional real estate and cutting-edge technology, fostering an ecosystem for sustainable and efficient urban solutions for the built world, she said.
