There’s no path for Canada to become the 51st state from the American side. Canada would be a second California with about the same population and about 50 electoral votes and about 48 seats in Congress — heavily Democrat. Republicans would never stand for that. This talk from Trump amounts to spitting in the face of a Liberal government, nothing more, nothing less.

(His constant musing about this has become tiresome. We are just fine as a sovereign nation)

HAVE WE LEARNED NOTHING?

I continue to be aghast at the Canadian response to Donald Trump’s tariffs. Will Trump be to blame if the Liberals win the next federal election, as Lorne Gunter opined in his March 16 column? Why is it that after 10 years of watching the hapless Justin Trudeau throw Canadian sovereignty into the breeze of a woke globalist agenda, we are suddenly transfixed by the bluster of that big meanie south of the border? Do Canadians not realize that Trudeau’s handpicked replacement — and kindred spirit — is a much greater threat to Canadian sovereignty? Let’s not lose sight of the true threat to our sovereignty. Prime Minister Carney must go!

(The Liberals are now absolutely competitive in the upcoming election. Be warned Canada)

AXING THE TAX

While the Carney Liberals are taking a victory lap for axing the carbon tax for consumers, people have to remember if it wasn’t for the day and night hammering of “axe the tax” by Pierre Poilievre and the Conservatives, none of this would have happened. Now all we have to worry about is what replaces it and how well it’s hidden from us, because, as sure as God made little green apples, there will be one.

(As Lorrie Goldstein recently pointed out, eliminating the consumer portion of the carbon tax is all smoke and mirrors)

NAME GAME

Now that “Governor Trudeau” is gone, how long do you think it takes Trump to come up with a name for Prime Minister Carney? I give it until this Wednesday.
