Say what you want about Donald Trump, but I wish we could find a leader in Canada who had the guts to form a “DOGE.”

Judging from the almost daily reports from the Canadian Taxpayers Federation documenting the wasteful spending and abuse in the Liberal government and the public service, we need a “Department of Government Efficiency” every bit as much as the U.S.

If those in the Liberal government had done the jobs they were elected and responsible to do, I don’t believe we would be in this “ tariff hell” today.

Instead, they compelled our nation to fully embrace the ”elitist, globalist, utopia of woke” with its agenda and ideals.

Our beloved country has become the case study in how to bring a great country to its knees in nine years or less. The Liberals’ many policy failures have paved the way for U.S. President Donald Trump to justify the implementation of his tariffs.

We have hit the bottom of the barrel. The only way to go is up, but Mark Carney “ain’t the answer.”

PLAYING OUR POLITICIANS

We are the tariff target of Donald Trump’s Made in America manipulations.

Instead of the historic Moving Target Defence (MTD) military strategy, Trump is using a Moving Target Offence against Canadian politicians who have no clue they are being played. Every time they attempt to address a new fentanyl requirement, an enhanced border security demand, an automotive or resource supply issue, he changes his target or timeline.

There is no winning against this strategy except reflecting consistent economic pain back onto the instigators. Ontario Premier Doug Ford gets it. Electrical brownouts/price boosts, contract exclusions, resource embargos. You screw with us, we screw with you. Let’s talk.

True, American citizens are not our enemy. But about half of those who voted did so for the man who is. Guilt by association.

Circumventing the U.S. and developing new trade partners in Asia, Europe and South America will take years. But being held hostage by America is a death sentence.

For once in our history, Canada needs to step up and defend itself all by itself. Our free ride is over.

ANOTHER LIBERAL FAILURE

Think there is a business case for selling liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Germany and Japan now?

Once again, the Liberals fail to show any foresight or intelligence and Canadians suffer for it.

Is there anything that they do well? I’ve yet to see it.
